For one, you’re choosing the wrong goals. If you want something and enjoy it, it should be easy to be consistent with it. You need to always have the end goal in mind.
Yet, we can’t depend on that end goal to motivate us. Quite frankly, we never know when we are going to reach that end goal. And that is exactly part of the problem.
Modern-day society has taught us that everything we want comes instantly. Looking for a new book to read? Order it on Amazon Prime and it could be here tomorrow. Want a chef-cooked meal but don’t want to make it yourself? Pull out the Uber Eats app and get it delivered in 45 minutes.
Heck, even beauty nowadays is instant. People want to reverse years’ worth of wrinkles using a syringe full of botox. It only takes 15 minutes, why not?
If we learn to enjoy the slow-burning process to success, consistency becomes easy. You need to look at each day as just that. One day. Don’t think about your end goal. Think about the one thing you have to do today that may someday…
