If you consider yourself a Type A person like I do, then you probably spend hours obsessing over potential outcomes for every situation. You worry about the things that may occur so you can prepare for them and control the situation.

Instead of living in the moment, you’re constantly thinking about all of the what-ifs in the world.

What if he doesn’t show up to the date? What will I do then? I don’t want to waste my night and a cute outfit. Maybe Sally will also be in the city and we can go out to dinner, worst-case scenario. How will I slip away from the date if it’s awful?

Any of these thoughts sound familiar? Those are you always trying to be in control of the situation. You can’t just go with the flow because you’re always three steps ahead of the outside world.

According to Wikipedia, someone who is Type A can be considered “competitive, highly organized, ambitious, impatient, highly aware of time management, or aggressive”. In contrast, someone who is Type B is “more relaxed, less neurotic, less frantic, and more explainable”.

If you think about this, this makes sense. If you are Type B you naturally can go with the flow and just let life happen. You probably don’t get anxious because you…
